The Presidential Scholarship Community Gala
Join us Friday, April 3, 2020 at Longwood Gardens
Enjoy an elegant night out at Chester County’s historic Longwood Gardens. Since 1983, the Presidential Scholarship Community Gala has brought together, donors, University leaders, and community partners to support student success at WCU.
The Presidential Scholarship Community Gala is the sole source of funding for the Presidential Scholarship, which is awarded to students who display a commitment to academic excellence. The scholarship supports seven students annually with renewable $3,000 awards.
This year’s event will feature live music from the Wells School of Music and The Morning After Band, a live auction, dinner, and dancing—and exclusive after-hours access to the Conservatory.
Although the Gala is a sell-out event, there are several ways to support our cause. In addition to purchasing tickets, donors can select from a variety of sponsorship levels ranging in price and exposure.
Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, Aramark, and all our donors past and present.
2019 Presidential Gala Highlights
Last year’s event raised over $255,000 in sponsorships and donations—a record surpassing the previous year’s donations by 67%.
For the first time in the event’s history, an anonymous donor offered a $20,000 match for all funds raised, followed by an additional $20,000 match by Brigadier General Richard D. Merion ‘59, M‘69, H‘09 and Jeanette Merion H‘09.
Thank you to all our supporters in 2019, and congratulations to our scholarship recipients.
